Mr. Raymond W. Kauffman recently retired as the President of Omega Training Group, Inc. a defense consulting and defense contractor firm operating in Columbus, Georgia since March 1990. Mr. Kauffman has more than 40 years of successful experience and practical expertise in executive leadership positions and in the management of programs/projects for numerous highly diversified organizations from the Department of Defense and Department of the Army to the private sector of defense contracting. He is the consummate professional with a proven record of success working in the field of materiel acquisition and fielding new equipment into and for the Army’s fighting force.
Having spent a significant part of his military career developing and writing doctrine, and developing, testing, and fielding new equipment, he is considered to be immensely qualified as a subject matter expert in Infantry how-to-fight doctrine and the application of new technology and new equipment into existing and prototype fighting systems.
Under his leadership, Omega has provided the customer with on time delivery of quality products and services to a variety of government and commercial defense entities, to include: General Dynamics, Honeywell Defense Systems, BAE, Anteon Corporation, Hughes Aircraft Company, Texas Instruments, Alliant Technologies, Allied Signal, GIAT Industries, SACO Defense, Defense Advance Research Program Agency (DARPA), Raytheon Systems Company, AAI Corporation, U.S. Army Soldier Systems Command, U.S. Army PEO-STRI, U.S. Army PEO Soldier, Directorate of Contracting (Fort Benning, Georgia), CMS Defense Systems, Computer Sciences Corporation, SAAB Training Systems, inter alia.
Ray Kauffman was commissioned in 1964 through U.S. Army Infantry Officer Candidate School (OCS). After two combat tours in Southeast Asia and subsequent assignments worldwide, he returned to Fort Benning to command the OCS Battalion between 1983 and 1985.
