DeLloyd (De) Voorhees, Jr. retired from the U.S. Army in October 1998 after 30 years with the rank of Colonel, IN, USA.  He graduated from Infantry OCS in Class 34-69 in October 1969.  His initial ten years of service included assignments to the 10th SFG(A), MACV, 197th Inf Bde and the 1st Inf Div (Fwd).  During the later part of his Army career, he served as the Project Manager for Training Devices (PM TRADE) at the U.S. Army Simulation Training and Instrumentation Command (STRICOM), 1992-1995.  His final assignment was as the US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Program Executive Officer (PEO) for Special Programs where he was responsible for developing and fielding combat equipment, munitions and demolitions for all Special Operations Forces and managing Special Access R&D and Procurement Programs in support of USSOCOM’s Special Mission Units. COL Voorhees later served as the Principle Deputy to the U.S. Special Operations Command Acquisition Executive until he retired from active duty in 1998.

Upon retirement from the military in November 1998, Mr. Voorhees joined Jardon and Howard Technologies (JHT), Inc., in Orlando, Florida as Director of Government Programs and later promoted to Vice President in 1999.  He left JHT in June 2000 to become the Director of Training Programs for Camber Corporation in Hampton, VA., a position held until June 2002 when he joined Computer Sciences Corporation. He assumed responsibility for CSC’s Orlando operation and management of CSC’s support to PEO STRI on each of the four domains of the STOC contract.  He joined Booz Allen Hamilton in November 2008 to assist in growing their business in the Orlando market.

Mr. Voorhees holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Columbus College and a master’s degree from the University of Southern California.  He is a graduate of the Army War College and the Defense Systems Management College, Program Manager’s Course.  He is a Life Member of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), the Special Forces Association (SFA) and The US Army Officer Candidate Schools Alumni Association (TUSAOCSAA) where he serves as the Vice President for Operations.
