It is interesting to note that 16 OCS gradutes served in combat on Iwo Jima and the battle of Okinawa. This was due to the high rate of casualties onOkinawa among rifle platoon leaders. It was so bad that the Army transferred AAA officers to the enjoin the battle of Okinawa as infantry platoon leaders.
